A seasoned trail professional; Jane McCulloch has worked in the trail industry for nearly 20 years. She has held the roles of Marketing Coordinator and Executive Director with the New Brunswick Trails Council and then held the roles of Atlantic Trail Coordinator, Strategic Partnership Manager and finally the National Director of Trail with the Trans Canada Trail. Jane currently runs her own trail tourism consulting firm Terminus Consulting as well as being part of a national trail consulting collaborative called Creative Trails Canada.

Jane has a passion for working with communities to create economic opportunities through their beloved trail systems. She is currently managing the development of a Signature Trail and Trail Town (program) for the Wolastoq Valley Trail in New Brunswick. She has also worked on the development of the Bicycle Friendly Nova Scotia Program, the Central Counties (RTO6) Tourism Strategy, The NB Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture’s Trail Action Plan and the Group of Seven Trail Communication Strategy. Jane was the president of the Atlantic Canada Trails Association, an association focused on the development and promotion of Destination Trails in Atlantic Canada. As President she was instrumental in the development of the Destination Trail Assessment tool; which successfully assessed over 40 trails and resulted in many upgrades to these trails including the redevelopment of the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail; which was listed as one of the top 25 destinations in Nova Scotia.

Jane is well informed on current trail tourism trends and has had the opportunity to visit many trail tourism products throughout North America; including the Great Allegheny Passage (Pittsburgh to Washington), The P’tit Train du Nord, East Coast Trail, The Appalachian Trail. She has organized both participated and organized Trail Tourism Best Practice Missions where she was able to learn how communities are engaged in the development of their trail tourism product.
